Steps On How To Create An Instagram Account For A Business
Time to roll up our sleeves and get started…
Step 1: Download And Launch The App
Download the latest version of the Instagram application from App Store. If you are using an Android then go to Google Play. Once your app is installed, simply tap to open.
Step 2: Sign Up With Your Email Address
Tap Sign Up. Then enter your email address and then tap “Next”, OR tap “Log In with Facebook” to sign up with your Facebook account.
I strongly suggest though that you use your email address to Sign Up. This is much better so you will be able to retrieve your account if somebody tries to hack or report it in the future. Using you email address gives you a secured access to your Instagram account.
Step 3: Switch Your Instagram To Business Account
Now that you have created your own account, let’s proceed with setting up your business profile.
Create a name that is relevant to the business you offer. Having a unique and interesting username can get the attention of your target audience that can lead them up to following your account and opening your profile. By then, followers will be able to see more of your products and they might even end up buying them.
Additionally, you will need to switch your personal Instagram account to Business account. This makes it easier for people to identify that you are a business and get in touch with you directly from the app.
Step 4: Your Business Logo
We’re almost there…
After signing up on Instagram, you’ll be asked to upload a profile picture for your account. This time, you can use your business logo for your Instagram business account.
Remember, aside from the username, your Instagram profile picture plays a very important role to your business too. It attracts people and by just looking at the picture itself, customers will be able to identify what kind business you have.
If you feel like importing your picture from your other social media accounts, then you may do so. Instagram may ask you to import your profile picture from your Facebook account or Twitter account.
Step 5: Create Your Business Profile
Now that you are almost set up, make sure to add in pertinent business information like store hours, business address or phone number so customers can get in touch with you directly.
You can start by putting your business’ name or if you represent your business then you can put your real name on it. You may also want to include your business’ website if you have.
Also, adding something that describes your business may help maximize the reach of your market. You may put your company’s motto or slogan in that area. Even your business’ vision and mission is acceptable.
Another thing to consider while doing this is to make it very appealing so that your future followers will know more about what kind of business you have. In other words, make it catchy to capture the interest of your customers.
Step 6: Link Your Facebook Page
After switching your account to business profile, Instagram will ask you to continue with your Facebook account. Business profiles on Instagram are linked to Facebook page. Posts you share from Instagram to Facebook will appear on that page.
If you have multiple pages for your business, connect the page that you use the most to share news and updates with your followers.
Once connected, the Instagram business profile will automatically import the business information you use in your Facebook Page including the phone number, physical address and email. You can edit the information that appears in your business profile any time.
All these will be under your business information profile on Instagram. Isn’t it amazing how you can market your business by just using your Instagram business account and automatically share it to your Facebook page? It does not only save your time but also allows you to reach a wider range of target audience.
Step 7: Start Your Business With Instagram
Voila! You are now fully set up with your Instagram business account . Next, let us get started by posting pictures.
Keep in mind that the pictures you post are very powerful to getting the interest of your followers. This drives awareness of your business, product or service.
It is important to remember that a high quality picture will also attract more followers as Instagram is a social media platform where photos are very much involved. Take advantage of the filters and layouts, then decide on a look and feel that represents your business.
Your photos will be the key to gaining new followers and a bigger market on Instagram. This means, you get more customers and increase sales.
A great photo means a great Ad and to accomplish this you need to be creative. Also, always add your logo when telling a story that supports your business goals. Keep your captions connected with your business as this is one way of communicating easily with your clients.
