I will share with you two simple things that Bob Steenlage shared with me that you can do to break through that glass ceiling! Don’t let the simplicity fool you or you will be tempted not to put them into practice. Override that thought. The simplest things we do on a daily basis can sometimes be the most profound and have the biggest impact on our lives.
They are very easy things to do, but hard to practice consistently. You can use then in any area of your life and it will have a great impact on how much success you will have.
Your Simple Task
I. Get a simple notebook, and:
(A) Daily write down at least 10 things you are thankful for.
(B) Review the things you are thankful for at night when you go to sleep.
Your subconscious will then review all these positive things while you are sleeping. As a result, you will daily wake up in a better frame of mind than the day before!
After you finish daily writing down the things that you are thankful for, draw a line & write the down the things that are wrong or bad in your life; the kind-of-things you wish you would like to be different in your life.
After a period of time, these problems in your life will start to go away, be resolved, or you will see why these hardships were stepping stones to success.
How can you appreciate a warm shower until you have taken plenty of cold one’s? You now have something to compare to & be ‘thankful for’!) (Laws of the Universe work just like gravity….ALWAYS!)
Acts of Kindness
2) At least, two to three times a week, think of some Act of ‘KINDNESS’ you can do for someone, no matter how small it may be. You could call or visit someone who is ill or depressed. Call, text, email, write, or visit someone who had a very positive effect on your life when you were growing up, etc.
Help someone in the grocery store or offer to pay for someones groceries, overtip someone who does a service for you.
Remember your good deed must be a genuine act of kindness, as viewed by the receiver & giver! (It will come back to you many, many fold!)
Bringing the Two Exercises Together
For any of you who are a bit puzzled how these two exercises will help you succeed, please let me explain. Bob accidentally discovered these two secrets as a child, & confirmed it from studying books & tapes on the subject & by what surprising results he was getting in his life.
Even though he came from a dysfunctional family, was a slow student, only had average athletic ability, etc. he began to realize the more ‘Kindness’ you can show to people, and the more ‘Gratitude’ you have for whatever comes along life, whether it appeared to be either ‘good’ or ‘bad’, at ‘that’ moment in time, the happier & successful I became.
They are laws of the universe; just like gravity is a law of the universe. You can’t see it, but you know it’s there. It is the same thing here. It’s like getting in sync with nature. It works. As they say, “the proof is in the pudding”
Without exception, the most important human quality that a person can possess, that will contribute to their long-term happiness and success is to develop an in-depth “Attitude of Gratitude”. It Frees you from all ‘Blaming’ & ‘Complaining’ & all the ‘Stickin Thinkin’ (Zig Ziegler
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, & creates a vision for tomorrow.
You cannot be grateful and be bitter.
You cannot be grateful and be unhappy.
You cannot be grateful and be without hope.
You cannot be grateful and be unloving.
So learn how to be grateful, as if your life depended on it because it does.
Suggestion: If you want to get physically stronger, lift weights, for example. If you want to learn how to be truly Grateful, as mentioned above, lift thought-changing weights which means, disciplining yourself to daily write down in a notebook at least 10 Things you are Thankful for. Then meditate on these things as you go to sleep at night, instead of thinking about your problems, as most people do. Dwelling on the things you are grateful for is the Key.
Your subconscious mind rehearses this positive information all night long………..each day you become more and more Thankful. You begin to realize that you truly care about others; taking the emphasis off yourself. It’s like jumping from one side of the fence to the other. ……..DESPAIR….to….HOPE….to….REALITY & BLESSINGS…..

As you become more Grateful in your heart and care more for others, as a result of this exercise, you will begin to attract more positive things into your life. It will keep you from giving up, which most people do. Your attitude will change………….Your whole life will change. Even if you can’t do this everyday, try your best to do these simple exercises as much as possible.
It works for everyone over a period of time. “So learn how to be grateful, as if your life depended on it because it does.”
