“You Can Do Whatever You Put Your Mind To” written by Mike Marko.
Did your parents ever tell you, “you can do whatever you put your mind to”?
There have been times when I chose to practice that, but in my earlier years I didn’t put as much of my heart into it as I should have. It was until I got older that I started to really begin to appreciate the meaning behind that saying.
Today I’m going to talk about what that sentence really means to me.
How You Can Do Whatever You Put Your Mind To
Ok, you could be saying to yourself something like I once did, “I can’t move a mountain if I put my mind to it, so whoever said that must be full of crap.” It wasn’t’ until I took a step back from the literal and started to look at the intended meaning that it really made sense to me.

My participating at the Warrior Dash just south of Cleveland, Ohio. I had seen advertisements for it in the past, and had thought it would be fun but didn’t try the opportunity. That changed a day ago.
It was a tougher 3 mile run than I had expected. Throughout the run there were obstacles that normally would have had me hesitated. But I knew you can do whatever you put your mind to, so I put my head down and tackled each challenge one at a time and conquered each one.
If you are asking yourself what you can do to accomplish your goals, no matter what they are, I have some suggestions for you.
Putting My Mind To It
I learned this part over a decade ago. When I started building up my real estate investments when the housing market crashed, that I could never find financing. It was partly true… the housing crash had made it extremely difficult to own more than three or four homes, but it never stopped me. I must have talked to dozens of banks until I found ones that WOULD help me purchase more houses.
I never took No for an answer.
I just kept working at it.
When you put your mind to it, you really can think of ways to overcome obstacles.
Now you can be put your mind to something, and being the most brilliant person on the planet, but if you don’t take action then forget “you can do whatever you put your mind to”… nothing will happen.
Putting your mind to something also means taking action, and persevering no matter the challenges.
In the example above, I hustled to find ways to buy more single family rental properties. I networked. I searched the internet. I emailed. I called. I was relentless.
And most importantly, I never gived up.
If you don’t take consistent, persistent action you are missing a big part of success.
If you don’t have the motivation, you won’t have the fuel to hustle and take action.
Know the reason WHY you want to achieve your desired result. Ask yourself why… then once you have that answer, ask yourself why the NEW ANSWER is important to you. After you have asked WHY a few times, you get down to the root motivation.
That root motivation will be the driving force to helping you achieve your goals.
In the real estate example, I did wanted to purchase real estate to rent out to help build up equity and passive income. And the reason I wanted to build up equity and passive income was because I wanted to retire early and travel. The reason I wanted to retire early and travel was because I wanted to be able to do anything I wanted when I wanted (and now I add to this that I want spend more time with Bren and give her anything she desires because she makes me extremely happy).
With a reason why like I created, you can see how that will help give me the motivation I need. When you create your own reason, you will know that you can do whatever you put your mind to because it will be your fuel when otherwise you might want to take a break or give up.
Know That YOU CAN Do Whatever You Put Your Mind To
You can tell yourself “I can” all day long, and if you really believe it, and are willing to take action and work for it, you can definitely accomplish anything you put your mind to.
Focus + Hustle + Perseverance = Success

There is a lesson to be learned here, and that is you can do whatever you put your mind to. You just need to make sure that you have all the necessary elements in place, and push through whatever may be holding you back.
I believe in you.
And what do you really have to lose?
See you on the road to success!
